1906

This is a photo of Putney Cricket Club - a group of men in whites, plus some in suits and bow ties, taken outside on a field, from 1906.

Leslie t. Crofts, the little boy in the photograph, was born in Putney in 1897, and attended All Saints Boys School as a young boy, in the early 1900's, and he lived in Putney, fought in WWI and worked for the Civil Service up until the early 1950's when he got married. He later moved to Clacton on Sea. He died in 1983 at the age of 86.

His parents and sisters are buried at Putney Vale Cemetery

His father, Thomas R. Crofts, was a master butcher there in Putney, they lived on Lupus Street.

It would be wonderful if the men were identified. - please get in touch with Mark Wibberley or Ben Brook if you know of anyone in this picture!
